Downloading Patient Data from Holter into PC/Holter Maintenance

Procedure
Instruction

1.0

    Stopping the Recording Process

    a) To stop recording after 24 or 48 hours, or sooner if desired, remove the batteries completely

Warning: DO NOT RE-INSERT BATTERIES after removal as this will erase the ECG data on the
    Flash memory card

    b) Remove the flash memory card and patient electrodes. If it is desirable to remove the leads from
the patient input connector, then, due to their snugness of fit in this connector, it is suggested that
the medical technician carefully grip these leads only at the base whenever removing them. NEVER
pull on the wire itself as this can easily break the wire inside the insulation causing a noisy and         intermittent ECG recording

Reading the Holter Recorder Data into the CardioCard/CardioSuiteSystem
a) Insert the flash memory card into the flash card reader of the Computer and select "Holter In".
For compact flash cards into standard PCMCIA readers, plug the compact card into a PCMCIA
    adaptor socket first

b) Type in the start date use 2 digits for month, 2 digits for day, and 4 digits for year. (e.g. March 5, 1999
    would be 03/05/1999)

Type in the start time using hh:mm format, where hh is 2 digit 24-hour format and mm is minutes.
Click button to "Get Patient data from Recorder"

c) Click "VX3 Recorder" for Type of Recorder. A message will come on the screen "Please Wait". If an
error message come up instead, there are three possible reasons (try in the following order):

1) USB cable or CF card may be disengaged and need to be re-inserted. Unplug USB (CF card reader)
and re-insert. Unplug CF card and re-insert. Now try to read in again. If this fails go to next step.

2) CF card may be empty. Card contents can be read in "My Computer". If you see no files on CF
reader drive (removable disk) no data exists. If files are present, go to next step.

3) Go to "Holter Setup" settings to ensure correct drive letter for "path to flash card". Correct
    as needed.

d) When asked "store to database?", answer "yes". In order store the Holter in the database, you
must enter a 9 digit patient ID number. (SSN) for the patient, name (last, first) and the age.

Note: the Flash memory card is now free to be re-used for a new patient

e) Now that the information is stored in the database, you are able to "edit" and "print" as described
in the database section. To print now, click on the printer icon and select "Summary Reports" (as
    selected in "Holter setup")
or "ECG Reports" (for example "full disclosure")

   Maintenance

The Flash Holter Recorder requires virtually no maintenance. Ensure that the battery contacts are clean
and that the inside of the recorder is free of dust and dirt. The case and the pouch with belt and strap can
be cleaned with a lint free towel moistened with mild soap and water. Do not use any strong solvents.
   Clean as often as desired.
