Cardio Hardware Installation (ECG, Stress, and Vitals)

1.0

For Installing the USB Model

Please refer to the CardioSoftware Install steps 4.0 and 5.0, as there is a special sequence of operations that must be followed to ensure the proper installation of Cardio drivers. Once the drivers are installed, simply plug the Cardio USB lead into the proper port on your PC.
2.0

For Installing the PCMCIA Card Model

Note: if you have a PCMCIA model (primarily for notebook computers), you do not need a 8/16 bit slot. You need a standard type II PCMCIA slot, into which your card plugs in. Make sure to put the Card into the 1st slot. When the computer is running, this can be determined under Windows 9x by going to Control Panel and selecting PC Card (PCMCIA). It shows if a slot is empty or not. Plug the CardioCard™ into one of the slots and Windows will take the "empty" message away. If you plugged into Slot 1, that will now have the empty taken away. If you plugged into Slot 2, the empty will go away from that selection. Make sure to use Slot 1
  • Make sure your address jumpers are set according to your needs. (set to 230 at the factory) The settings of the CardioCard™ interrupt and card address jumpers must agree with the card address settings in the system setup options.
3.0

For both ISA/PCI and PCMCIA CardioCard Model Installations

  • Plug the isolation transformer into the AC main
  • Plug your PC into the isolation transformer
  • Plug your patient box cable into the CardioCard™
4.0

For Installing the ISA/PCI Card Model

  • Remove your PC cover
  • Plug your CardioCard™ in one of the unused 8/16 bit slots in your PC. Make sure the card is securely bolted down. This will prevent the card from moving while operators are plugging and unplugging the rear connectors model
  • Place the cover back on your PC
  • Make sure your address and interrupt jumpers are set according to your needs. (set to 230 and IRQ 2/9 at the factory) The settings of the CardioCard interrupt and card address jumpers must agree with the interrupt and card address settings in the system setup options
  • Place the cover back on your PC
5.0 When the setup program asks for the IRQ, use the defaulted values unless installing a ISA/PCI card. In this situation refer to (Figure 12) in the Appendix. If this is a PCMCIA installation check the PCMCIA button.
