The Invention of ECG Technologies

Electrocardiograph systems have been around for a long time. Invented in 1895 the inventor, Dutch Willem Einthoven, released his new invention, and won the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1924. This new discovery in medicine allowed for the monitoring of heart rhythm and the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. A key increase in cardiology, and a technology so improved on and used now exactly 100 years after Einthoven received his reward.

In 1989 Dr. Nasiff Invented the First Computer Based ECG. He applied for patents but was never responded to by the U.S. Government. Dr. Nasiff was though able to quickly have his devices approved by the FDA, and placed them onto the market. First being sold to South America and then to the North Americas, the Nasiff CardioCard ECG System was the first Computer ECG System on the market in 1989.

Now years later, the Nasiff CardioCard ECG System is sold Globally and is one of the worlds highest developed ECG Technologies. With highly developed algorithms assisting Doctors in the diagnosis of heart disease, it is the smartest system that is available to the world. Without the expansion to become a computer based system, the math used for this functionality would not be possible. It is awesome to look back and notice that when Dr. Nasiff realized this, he made the change, he developed the technology into a smarter system, in the pursuit of saving more lives.

If you ask Dr. Nasiff today why he chose to do this with the education he has, his response is always “I wanted to do something that really would make a difference in the world, I wanted to do something that would save lives and decrease suffering.” With decades of schooling under his belt, Dr. Nasiff was pursuing the manufacturing of robotics before discovering the gap in the cardiology industry that was the lack of a computer based ECG System in 1989.
